HIMSS Appoints Two Leaders to Executive Team Bringing World-Class Strategic and Clinical Expertise to its International Operations
LONDON, UK - (HealthTech Wire / News) -The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) announced it has appointed Dr Charles Alessi as Chief Clinical Officer, HIMSS International, and Bruce Steinberg as Managing Director, Executive Vice President, HIMSS International, with the aim of addressing the global need and demand of transforming health through information and technology.
Their extensive clinical and strategic expertise will strengthen the HIMSS international presence and deliver new value to members.
The HIMSS full spectrum of capabilities in health information and technology will serve as a basis for Dr Alessi and Mr Steinberg to forge the industry ahead through impactful thought leadership programmes, while developing the breadth and reach of its evaluation tools - starting with the established Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM).
About Dr Charles Alessi:
Dr Charles Alessi has over 25 years’ experience of all aspects of healthcare policy and clinical practice globally. He is the immediate past Chairman of the National Association of Primary Care (NAPC) and has been active in a series of external facing positions for governments and executive agencies on a national and international level. He will continue in his role as Senior Advisor for Public Health England along with his responsibilities for HIMSS.

Mr Steinberg has more than 30 years of international experience in enabling the growth and transformation of innovative businesses, from MTV Europe, UK Gold, Fox Kids to Sky and People Tree. Prior to joining HIMSS, Mr Steinberg was CEO of Big White Wall, which offers a safe and anonymous 24/7 digital resource for mental health and wellbeing support.
He has been at the forefront of the expanding social impact business model and he will continue to be a member of the Council for Beyond Type 1 (Diabetes) and a trustee of the Unforgettable Foundation (Dementia).
Mr Steinberg said in regards to future opportunities for HIMSS:
