Less than a year after its launch, the European HIMSS Stage 6&7 Club hospital CIOs have embarked on a challenging venture. The Club is currently working on a European draft for an updated, ideally global and all-encompassing EMRAM model. “We started our IT program in 2012, and we are very proud of what we have reached,” commented Liesbeth Langenhuysen from the department of IT at Radboud University Medical Center in the Netherlands. She attended eHealth Week 2015 in Riga, Latvia, in early May to receive the reward for three years of hard work. Radboud UMC became the first hospital in the Netherlands to reach stage 7 in the EMRAM model of hospital digitisation. It is only the third to have reached that stage in Europe.
